Publication Policy
Orun is a scientific, peer-reviewed, open access journal that publishes original works in the field of lexicography. The journal is published once a year in May in Turkish and English. Our journal adheres to the highest standards of publication ethics and is committed to national and international principles such as the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA), World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), and the Higher Education Council’s Guidelines on Scientific Research and Publication Ethics.
- Submitted works must be original and not previously published or submitted elsewhere.
- The work must be submitted with the written consent of all authors, and after submission, the author’s name may only be removed, added, or the author order changed with the written consent of all authors.
- Papers previously presented at an academic conference may be considered for publication, provided that this is clearly stated.
- The legal and academic responsibility for the opinions and findings expressed in the papers rests with the authors.
- Each paper submitted is subject to a preliminary evaluation by the editorial board in terms of form and content. Papers that do not comply with the writing principles are rejected without being sent to the review process.
- Papers deemed suitable are evaluated by at least two independent and expert reviewers through a double-blind review process.
- If one reviewer gives a positive opinion and the other a negative opinion, the article is sent to a third reviewer at the editor’s discretion. Articles that receive two or more negative reports are not published and are returned to the author.
- The final decision on publication rests with the editorial board.
- The editors ensure that the review process is conducted in a fair, impartial, and transparent manner.
- Every manuscript submitted to the journal is screened for plagiarism using iThenticate software during the pre-review stage.
- Manuscripts with a high similarity rate are not accepted for review, and the author(s) are informed.
- If plagiarism, data fabrication, ghost authorship, concealment of conflicts of interest, or similar ethical violations are detected in a published work, the work will be removed from publication and the relevant person and/or institution will be notified.
- According to the accepted ethical threshold, a similarity rate of generally below 30% is expected.
- Orun supports open access without commercial concerns. All published works can be read, downloaded, and copied by readers free of charge.
- The publication rights of published articles belong to the journal.
- No copyright fees are paid to the author(s), and no article processing or submission fees are charged to the author(s).
